Thermosil T7000
Abradable Air Seal

Thermosil T7000 is a two-part, low-density silicone sealant used to create an abradable air seal for high-speed compressor blades in jet turbines. T7000 meets the specifications of leading OEMs and is primarily used in operating environments with temperatures up to 525˚F (274˚C). Here are some more performance-proven features:
  • High-compression glass microspheres and a proprietary microsphere surface treatment produce a securely cross-linked glass-polymer matrix that will not degrade during aggressive mixing or application, ensuring consistent hardness and durability throughout the product life cycle.
  • High-instensity microsphere processing eliminates glass agglomerates that can clog turbine vane cooling holes and cause premature erosion and seal failure.
  • T7000 offers outstanding adhesion during application. Cured material will not adhere to turbine blade tips.
  • T7000 is low-viscosity and easily degassed for efficient application. It offers a working life of over 24 hours and is fully machinable when cured. Plus, its consistent black color provides a great looking, professional finish.

Thermosil T7000 meets the following OEM specifications:
  • Pratt & Whitney PWA 407
  • GE Aviation A15F18A1/B1
  • Honeywell EMS53163 Type 1 & 2

Thermosil T7000 is available in a 2.74 kg A/B kit, or in pre-measured void-free component injection cartridges.

Thermosil 7005
Ready-to-use Abradable Sealant

Thermosil 7005 is a one-part, low-density, heat-resistant silicone sealant that forms an abradable air seal for high-speed compressor blades in jet aircraft engines. Providing outstanding performance and reliability, while speeding throughput in manufacturing and maintenance applications, Thermosil 7005 offers:
  • A one-part formula that is ready-to-use, right from the container; no mixing or degassing required
  • Optimum elasticity and sealing at operating temperatures up to 550˚ F
  • A securely cross-linked glass-polymer matrix for maximum durability
  • No glass agglomerates that can clog down-stream turbine vane cooling holes
  • Self-leveling characteristics for a uniform finish in deep-section applications
  • Safe; no hazardous chemicals or materials (based on environmental risk assessment)
Thermosil 7005 offers sealing solutions for applications where a low density, flexible, machinable, heat-resistant sealant is required. It is available in dispensing gun cartridges and a range of custom packaging options to meet customer-specific applications.

Thermosil 4000

Potting and Damping Compound

Thermosil 4000 is a thixotropic, two-part silicone sealant that is applied as a potting compound for low-pressure compressor stator vanes in jet aircraft engines. Its superior elastic properties also allow it to function as a damping compound to minimize vane vibration and stress. Thermosil 4000 excels in ease of application and applied performance.
  • Minimal heat increase during machine mixing allows users to extrude 100% of the cartridge contents for maximum efficiency.
  • Fast extrusion rates for easy application, with excellent adhesion and flow-resistance.
  • Meets Pratt & Whitney specification PWA 404-2 and is primarily used in operating environments with temperatures up to 350˚F (177˚C).
  • Smooth, glossy black finish produces cosmetically superior fillets.
Thermosil 4000 is available in pre-measured void-free component injection cartridges.
