About FMI Chemical

Aerospace customers have trusted FMI Chemical to test and supply certified high temperature compounds for more than 25 years.
We play a crucial role in keeping production lines operating smoothly and on schedule for major jet engine manufacturers, including Pratt & Whitney and General Electric. Providing service beyond what original manufacturers are willing to offer, FMI Chemical delivers certified primers, adhesive sealants, and potting compounds to individual customer requirements.
Founded as a paint and coatings company in 1968, FMI Chemical Corporation evolved in response to jet engine manufacturing needs. Our involvement with aerospace manufacturers developed after our chemists successfully devised a solution to a problem with air entrainment in a flowable silicone rubber compound.
Since our laboratory certification in 1982, we have developed proprietary solutions to long-standing problems in the aerospace industry. These include degassing thixotropic silicone rubber in a two-component injection kit and initiating the use of void-free flow resistant rubber in a two-component injection kit. The company also has the ability to replace hazardous, toxic and photochemically reactive materials with environmentally friendly substitutes.
After officially separating from the paint company in 1987, the company incorporated and became FMI Chemical, Inc. to better serve our aerospace customers. Today, our testing laboratory evaluates and certifies materials from manufacturers, testing them to our customers' stringent specifications, and then providing convenient packaging and expedient delivery. The company has developed a just-in-time, off-the-shelf chemical management procedure to efficiently and cost-effectively supply jet engine compounds, keeping our customers operating on schedule.
